LOOKING FOR A NEUROMUSCULAR DENTIST? Look for a ICCMO member.

I have just returned to Chicago after a great meeting of Neuromuscular Dentists in Tempe, Arizona. ICCMO, is short for the International College of CranioMandibular Orthopedics. ICCMO is the organization that was founded and endorsed by Dr Barney Jankelson, Dr J, the founder of Neuuromuscular Dentistry.

In recent years a pilot study published in Cranio Journal showed improvement in symptoms of M.S. (multiple Sclerosis) when utilizing a neuromuscular orthotic. There were several lectures on innovative diagnostic and treatment modalities. While many dentists claim to be be “neuromuscular” only a small percentage take the time, energy and expense to attend the annual meetings. The Barney Jankelson Memorial meeting will be held in Phoenix in May 2013. The next international coference is in Munich in October 2013. I am looking forward to attending both meetings.

The American section of ICCMO believes that it is vitally important to attend the German meeting that it is paying $10,000 for translation services so that the U.S. and Canadian dentists can get the most value from the meeting.

The American contigent of ICCMO also voted to recommend that the International Board recognize a Russian Section of ICCMO.

I presented a lecture on alternatives to Orthodontic, prosthodontic (crown and bridge) and surgical treatment for long term phase two treatment. The use of cast gold or gold and ceramic or Duracetyl appliances are a great alternative to patients wanting fast results and lower costs to maintain their Neuromuscular Occlusion.

I strongly recommend that dentistsand patients interested in Neuromuscular Dentistry visit https://www.sleepandhealth.com/neuromuscular-dentistryfor a clear and concise and easily understood explanation of Neuromuscular Dentistry.
